May 8th of 1996 marked the passing of a remarkable woman. Donna White was a wonderful wife to her husband, mother to her children and grandmother. More significantly, she had a tremendous positive effect on everyone’s life with whom she came into contact. We all miss her ability to light up a room, amuse a child with the simplest things or; when necessary, say just the right thing to put someone in their proper place.

When Donna died, four of us who were close to her took a memorial motorcycle ride (Donna was an avid motorcyclist) from Kansas to Florida and back. During the trip, the term cancer sucks was tossed about more than once. Upon our return, one of us had some shirts made that read “First Annual Donna White Memorial Cancersucks Bike Ride.” The rest is history. The ride lives on, and so does Donna’s vivid memory.

Donna was always one of those “Good Samaritan” type people that wanted to help out the underdog, or whomever she happened to come in touch with that could use a hand. While undergoing cancer treatment she decided she would continue helping others after her death and arranged for her body to be donated to a local University for cancer research. It is our intent to follow her quest to help others. Cancersucks.com is our attempt to do everything in our power to raise money for cancer research in the name of CANCERSUCKS.COM and Donna White.
